A bit about Meleene Primero

Meleene is a well-known and well-respected music educator who has worked in both the public and private education system in the Northern Territory for over 42 years.

Including:
  • Involved in Darwin's annual 'Beat Festival" for over 40 years
  • Music specialist teacher at Rosebery Primary School, developed instrumental program of approximately 70 students and built a culture of musical excellence at the school.

In 2021, Meleene received the Australian Society for Music Education's (ASME) 'MUSIC EDUCATING FOR LIFE' Award which was presented by the NT Minister of Education on the opening night of the 43d Beat Festival, a fitting occasion in recognition of Meleene's service to this program from its inception.
